Rathaus (town hall) and Glockenspiel

The Rathaus or town hall is located in the heart of the historical Old Town. It is an arcade-style building built between 1760 and 1763 and was subject to extensive renovation between 1987 and 1989.

 

The small tower at the top of the Rathaus was fitted with 13 bells in the spring of 1997. The peal of the bells is different at different times of the year. The Glockenspiel of the bells can be heard at the following times:

 

March to October:

 

Monday to Friday: 10.02 a.m., 3.02 p.m., 5.02 p.m.

Saturdays: 10.02 a.m., 11.32 a.m., 3.02 p.m., 5.02 p.m.

Sundays: 11.32 a.m., 3.02 p.m., 5.02 p.m.

 

November to February:

 

Monday to Friday: 10.02 a.m., 3.02 p.m., 5.02 p.m.

Saturdays: 10.02 a.m., 11.32 a.m., 15.02 p.m.

Sundays: 11.32 a.m., 3.02 p.m.

 

The bells do not chime from the Thursday to the Saturday of Holy Week.
