Schiller National Museum

This Museum was built by the Swabian Schiller Society, founded in 1895, and is a "castle" over the Neckar visible from afar, which officially opened with a ceremony in 1903. It was built between 1901 and 1903 according to drawings by the renowned Stuttgart architects Ludwig Eisenlohr and Carl Weigle.

Schiller Monument

The Schiller Monument is situated in the park on the Schillerhöhe, across from the Schiller National Museum. The foundation stone was laid on Schiller's 100th birthday in 1859.

Marbach has devoted a particularly lovely part of town to its greatest son. A park with a beautiful view of the Neckar Valley was created between 1835 and 1840. The trees and bushes were donated by King Wilhelm I.

Goldener Löwe – the Inn of the Golden Lion

Friedrich Schiller's mother, Elisabetha Dorothea Kodweiß, was born in the "Goldener Löwe" at Niklastorstraße 39 in 1732.
